Govt may push messenger apps to track users

The changes that the govt. plans to introduce in the IT act will impact platforms that promise encryption and enhanced privacy to users. It will result in serious trouble for products like WhatsApp which haven't yet acted on identifying people behind fake news. The draft mandates internet companies to respond within 72 hours of a lawful order.
