Why there is no glimmer of hope for spouses of H-1B visa holders

A draft rule rescinding the existing Obama-era policy, which permitted H-1B spouses to work, was expected by end of 2018. However, the US administration appeared to have put this on the back burner and now the issue is back in the court room. It is felt that even if the court verdict is favourable, the US administration will rescind the EAD programme.
